She was married to Texas singer-songwriter Guy Clark and had a very close personal friendship with fellow singer-songwriter Townes Van Zandt. Susanna Clarke’s novel “Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell” is an ingeniously convincing, witty, and sophisticated novel. Clarke shows herself a master at weaving magic in an elegant story that makes for a detailed and flawless vision of historical England. Susanna Clark, an Atlanta, Texas, native, muse to two of our greatest songwriters and the seamstress that held together Nashville’s songwriting community throughout the 1970s and beyond, passed away in her sleep on June 25.
